President's Message, Winter, 2018

December 29, 2017 7:45 AM | Anonymous member

It’s a special privilege and an honor to begin my term as president of the Intermountain Compensation & Benefits Association.  Our outgoing president, Carolin Spencer, deserves an enormous thank you from all members of the board and members of ICBA for her countless years and service on the board.    Over the years, she has participated in a variety of roles and made a difference throughout her time of service.  It’s going to be tough filling her shoes and continuing her goal of building and strengthening the association. Carolin will continue to serve as the past-president.  In addition to thanking Carolin, there are many other members of the board that deserve a thank you for the blood, sweat, and tears they gave in providing the best service for the members.  I am forever grateful for their time and effort.   Each member of the board brings special skills, training, and backgrounds.  The diversity on the board is critical and contributes to the success for the association.

During my term as president, I have three goals.  Building the membership of the association, providing up-to-date, relative educational information on compensation and benefit topics, and strengthening peer networking opportunities for members.  Although members only meet a few times throughout the year, my hope is that every member walks away from a member meeting knowing they are enriched with all the association has to offer.  In order for my goals to be accomplished, the board and members need to be aligned.  Member input is critical to the success of the group.  We appreciate input and feedback on what we can do better to provide the best service to our members.

Thank you again for this opportunity, and I look forward to the next two years.
